This study investigates the awareness of the use of strategic information by twenty Saudi executives in Macca- Almokaramah District in their information management operations. The most important results shows that "Early warning system", "Strategic watch", "competitive intelligence" and "Commercial intelligence" are the most preferred concepts that refer to through operation. Executives` knowledge about all the terminologies of "Environmental scanning" is average; there are no significant differences in the awareness of the terminologies of "environmental scanning" but only in "Technological scanning". Systematic collection of strategic information is more familiar in large companies than small one, both of them are lacking of partial information which is very important to decision making process. There are no significant differences in behavior of strategic information collection between small and large companies. |
